Australian Firefighters Calendar team in the GCIT Office

We’re lucky enough to share a building with the team behind the iconic Australian Firefighters Calendar - yes, that one. Since 1993, their annual calendar has raised millions for Australian charities, including wildlife rescue, children’s hospitals, and mental health foundations. Their work doesn’t just break the internet, it does real good across the country.

So, when they offered to swing by the GCIT office to help us create some fun, eye-catching content around cybersecurity, we couldn’t say no.

What followed was one of our most memorable days at the office: firefighters, labradors, chickens and lambs took up every spare chair.

Protecting businesses with help from our (very fit) friends

We know terms like “conditional access policies” and “cloud security posture” don’t exactly set hearts racing. But they matter. And we’ve always believed that communicating our services should focus on the people - and that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

That’s why we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the Firefighters Calendar team to inject some fun into our message. With labradors on the phones, firefighters fielding support calls, and some very curious animals wandering through the GCIT office, we produced a fun little a video that’s lighthearted and still gets the point across.

Why We Did It (Beyond the Obvious)

The Australian Firefighters Calendar is more than just viral content. Their fundraising efforts have supported organisations like:

  • Currumbin Wildlife Hospital
  • Children’s Hospital Foundation
  • Australian Professional Firefighters Foundation
  • And dozens of smaller grassroots causes

As a Gold Coast-based business with our own commitment to community involvement, we’re big fans of what they do, and loved teaming up for something that promotes both cyber safety and charitable spirit.

The Serious Bit: Cybersecurity Still Matters

The video might be playful, but our work isn’t always. We help businesses across Australia:

  • Improve Microsoft 365 security
  • Meet Essential Eight and SMB1001 compliance requirements
  • Stay protected from breaches
  • Manage IT services to reduce downtime and stress

Whether you’re a local startup or an established company, we’ve got the tools (and the team) to help you stay safe, supported, and ahead of the curve.
