CYBERSECURITY
The Essential Eight is the baseline for Australian cybersecurity, and more contracts, insurers, and regulators are expecting it. But most organisations have gaps they don’t know about, and those gaps become a real problem when compliance requirements hit. This discovery workshop is conducted by certified Essential Eight assessors who will walk through each strategy with you, identify the major blockers, and give you an honest picture of your readiness.
The Essential Eight is a set of mitigation strategies recommended by the ACSC to protect against common cyber threats. This workshop assesses your current maturity level across all eight strategies and gives you a clear, prioritised path to improvement, whether you’re aiming for compliance or simply stronger protection.
If your workshop leads to a project delivered by GCIT, the workshop fee is deducted from the project cost. You’re not paying for a sales meeting. You’re investing in expert guidance that counts toward getting the work done.

You’ll get an honest assessment of where you stand and what needs to happen before a formal assessment makes sense. We’ll prioritise the gaps and recommend a realistic path forward.
A little preparation goes a long way. Here are some things to think about before the session.
Know your target maturity level. Are you aiming for Maturity Level 1, 2, or 3? If you’re not sure, we can help you work that out during the session.
Understand your environment. A general understanding of your IT setup helps: what devices your team uses, how they’re managed, what cloud services you rely on.
Bring the right people. Someone who understands the technical environment and someone who can make decisions about budget and priorities. The more context in the room, the more useful the session.
